An oil is more than a collection of ingredients. In traditional preparation, the base and botanicals are considered together. Kumkumadi takes its name from kumkuma: saffron.

This is a story from the broader Ayurvedic tradition. Glow On contains saffron, sandalwood and black sesame oil, but its published formula is not identified as Kumkumadi tailam.
